How to install Bukkit plugins on a Tekkit server? [on hold]

I would really like to get Bukkit installed on my Tekkit server so we can use the Essentials plugin. I created a plugins folder on my server, uploaded the MCPC+ jar file, renamed that to Tekkit.jar and renamed the original Tekkit.jar file to Tekkit-original.jar. Then I uploaded the Essentials plugins. When I try to start the server, I get the following error:

SEVERE [ForgeModLoader] Java 8 is not supported on MCPC+8.11! Please run MCPC+ using Java 7.

Since my server is on shared hosting, I can't change the Java Version to Java 7. I would have to have a VPN but that is too expensive. Is there any other way besides MCPC+ to get bukkit plugins to work on Tekkit?

I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because it is about tech support for modded Minecraft. We only provide tech support for vanilla Minecraft.
